he Metro Manila Film Festival has announced the first four films that are part of the festival’s 51st edition.
Several Kapuso stars are part of the horror, supernatural anthology ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins.’
‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemates Dustin Yu and Ashley Ortega are part of the movie with fellow Kapuso stars Carla Abellana, Ysabel Ortega, and Manilyn Reynes.
Celebrity couple Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi are part of the family drama movie ‘Rekonek,’ alongside Gerald Anderson, Gloria Diaz, and Alexa Miro.
Directed by Jun Lana, ‘Call Me Mother,’ starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, is also part of the festival.
Last but not the least, Piolo Pascual-starred crime-thriller ‘Manila’s Finest’ is included in the festival.

Dustin Yu
Fresh from his stint in ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition,’ Dustin Yu is one of the stars in the movie ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins,’ It is rumored that his on-screen partner in the movie would be Ivana Alawi, one of the houseguests in PBB. This will be his second ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ movie following the ‘SRR: Extreme’ in 2023.
Carla Abellana
For the third time, Carla Abellana would be part of a ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ movie. She was part of its 12th and 15th edition.
Ashley Ortega
‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ housemate Ashley Ortega will also star in ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins.’
Ysabel Ortega
Actress Ysabel Ortega will also be part of the movie ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins.’ Although her character is not yet revealed, the movie would be Ysabel’s first horror.
Elijah Alejo
After 15 years, Elijah Alejo once again will be part of a ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ movie. Elijah was part of ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll 12’ in 2010.
Manilyn Reynes
Almost 20 years has passed since Manilyn Reynes was last seen in a ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ movie. Luckily, she will be part of ‘Evil Origins.’
Carmina Villarroel
Carmina Villarroel is part of the family drama movie ‘Rekonek’ with Gerald Anderson, Gloria Diaz, and Alexa Miro.
Zoren Legaspi
Zoren will be back in the MMFF as part of ‘Rekonek.’ He was last part of an MMFF movie in 2009.
Mavy and Cassy Legaspi
